When the Internet was designed, it is natural that the impressive technological advancements could not be foreseen in hardware and software, as well as the commercial infiltration into all communication media and the consumer expectations that we have today. The current communication architecture faces serious deficiencies in terms of performance, scalability, flexibility, and quality of service (QoS) as well as routing, renumbering, mobility, multihoming, security and management to name few. Therefore,
US National Science Foundation Future Internet Design Initiative , European Union 6th and 7th Framework Programs, and Asia Future Internet Forum supports tens of projects which aims to solve the current problems of the Internet and create innovative environment which will support future technological enhancements.

My supervisor Prof. Shenoy proposed Floating Cloud Tiered Internet architecture and got two funds from NSF FIND so far. My doctoral study focuses on how to provide seamless user mobility in this architecture. Recently network world magazine published an article named 2020 Vision: Why you won't recognize the 'Net in 10 years which highlights the future Internet design activities in USA. In this article you can also find the interview done with Prof. Shenoy.

In that way, I can share what's going on a Ph.D. student's weird life, his experiences, the news that I found interesting (mostly technology related, though) or even the casual stuff. I asked my college friend Gorkem Durgut to help me for the new design of the website. As you see, he did a wonderful job. I thank him a lot for his effort, time and sincerity that he put in.
